Kedarnath Temple

Kedarnath Temple is home of lord Shiva. It is on the Himalayan range near the Mandakini river in Kedarnath, Uttarakhand in India. Kedarnathka temple built is a grand temple located at 3593 feet. How the temple was built At this elevation, it can not even imagine today. Sri Kedarnath temple worship is considered one of twelve Jyotirlingam. Sanctum is circumambulation path in the main part of the pavilion and around the temple. Nandi seated outside in the courtyard. It does not mention authentically, who made this temple. But It was mentioned that adiguru Shankaracharya established.

Renowned temple Kedarnath was built by Pandavas but Present temple was built by Adi Shankaracharya. Just Behind the temple you will seen samadhi of Adi Shankaracharya. It is believed that Kedarnath Dham is the place where Lord Shiva absolved Pandavas from the sin of killing their own cousins Kauravas in the battle of Kurukshetra war.

Kedarnath Temple is not directly accessible by road and has to be reached by a 14 kilometres uphill trek from Gaurikund. Inside Kedarnath Temple There are statues of the five Pandava brothers, Lord Krishna, Nandi, and Virabhadra (Rudra form). Statue of Draupadi and other deities are also installed in the main hall. Linga Swaroop Shiva is worshiped in the Garbagruha and considered as Sadashiva form of Lord Shiva.
